Iain is a primary school teacher, singer, creative and documentary photographer from Nottingham, England. Having taught for almost 20 years, he has refined a unique ability to relate to children and families and has since transferred those skills into photography, resulting in him capturing what he is most passionate about, documentary family photography. He enjoys interacting with this genre of photography to use his camera to celebrate the everyday and capture all that family means to the people he shoots, as well as himself. This is his prime focus in his Once Upon a Day sessions. Iain shoots exclusively with his Fujifilm X-Pro2 and XF23mm lens. Being an advocate of the classic 35mm view, he uses this to record the majority of his documentary work.
Iain is father to 3 beautiful boys and husband to his wonderful wife, Sally, who for a long time have been his main photographic subjects. They have helped enthuse his interest in documentary family photography and the images presented in this website give testament to that. Iain’s hope is that they demonstrate how attentive to the moments he is and what he can create to present a truly timeless record of what family is all about.
